Post-Zambia

How are you doing with everyone that side. Writing to you invokes the rich memories of your March visit and the great contribution you gave to our community. Your work has been reported up the National bodies. The trainings  with the teachers have greatly changed the Education landscape in the District. The tablets have been reportedly been deployed for consistent practical exposure for the pupils in the schools.

These words from Passwell are the reason we started IVO. One aspect of our charity I am incredibly proud of is our assessment of what needs can be addressed in the community. We have been so blessed to have Passwell and Kocebuka Community Foundation (KCB) as a representation of Zimba to partner with and bring the most worthwhile and impactful change.

Although we have long left Zambia, our work is continuing on. We are so grateful to have KCB as a partner to help us complete our project in Zimba, Zambia. Our 2 weeks there only left us time to deliver a portion of the fruit trees to the local schools, so Passwell is on the mission to complete the delivery.

On July 20, 2017 Passwell visited Nyawa Basic School in Kazungula District to deliver 120 trees. The school is situated 68 kms away from Zimba. It has a pupil population of 564.

They also donated one football that we had purchased on a whim when we stopped in town.

The Headmaster received both the trees and the balls. The school had no ball until this time. The only ball they had could no longer be mended. The school administration and pupils alike expressed gratitude and there was great jubilation.

We are so happy to see our work continuing on, and I’ll bring updates when the trees are bigger!
